Starting Child-Centered Autism Therapy
Intake Process, Treatment Plan, and Start of Services
-
As part of the intake process, our Autism expert (Your child's therapy Supervisor) will take time to interview you to get as much information as possible to understand your child, do an observation of your child, review any previous records, testing, and/or services you have received, and do an assessment of current skills as part of our process of understanding "the whole child".
-
Once we have a well rounded understanding of your child and their needs, we will write a treatment plan working on the skills most needed first.
-
If you're using insurance, we will submit the treatment plan to your insurance company for approval. Once the plan has been approved by the insurance company, your child's therapy Supervisor will introduce you to one of our amazing Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT) who will then spend time getting to know you and your child.
-
Those with private pay will met with the Supervisor to discuss their child's plan during their first parent training. Your child's therapy Supervisor will introduce you to one of our amazing Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT) who will then spend time getting to know you and your child.
-
From there, the RBT will then begin regular visits and focus on your child's needs so that your child will be happy to work with the RBT on the their goals. We make sure to spend time building a positive relationship ensuring that therapy is continually a happy experience!
Ongoing Child-Centered Autism Therapy
Assessments, Child Specific Goals, and Progress Through Data Monitoring
-
As the RBT works with your child, they will take data during each session. Your child's therapy Supervisor will coordinate with the RBT on the progress being made each week, modifying and adding goals as needed for optimal learning.
-
As 6 months of progress approaches, your child's therapy Supervisor will conduct further assessments to determine your child's improved strengths and other skills they need to learn. From these assessments, additional goals will be made to help your child learn and acquire more skills they need.
-
Parents have frequent check-ins with your child's therapy Supervisor and parent training, so you can learn all the good things you need to do to continue to see the magical changes with your child happen. Strengthening families is a big part of successful therapy.
A failure is not always a mistake, it may simply be the best one can do under the circumstances. The real mistake is to stop trying.
